I hold this trip near and dear to my heart — it’s the type of trip I wouldn’t have changed a single thing about. This was our first time in Ireland and it quickly became one of my favorite countries. I’m hesitant about going back because I’m worried it won’t live up to the memories of this first trip (Have you ever felt that way about a place?)
Day 1: We flew into Dublin, rented a car and drove through the Wicklow Mountains to Glendalough, the site of an ancient monastery.
We prioritize staying outside as much as possible after landing in order to adjust to the new timezone. Glendalough was that stop for us before checking into Mount Juliet Estate.
The grounds at Mount Juliet Estate are so stunning, which is what drew us here. We ordered room service, then walked around the property with our kids before bed time.
Day 2: We spent the morning at the hotel to do some more exploring on the grounds then drove to our next stay, an Airbnb in Dingle.
On our way to Dingle we stopped at the Rock of Cashel castle and the Muckross House estate, overlooking a beautiful lake.
Day 3-6: Dingle
The next few days we slowed our pace and explored the Dingle peninsula. Dingle is the sweetest little town. Some of the things we did (and would highly recommend):
Driving the Slea Head Loop along the coast
Enjoying Irish beaches (Coumeenoole Beach + Clogher Strand were our two favorites)
Taking a ferry to Blasket Islands (one of the highlights of the entire trip!)
Visiting the Blasket Center to learn about the history of the islands
Interacting with owls and falcons at Kingdom Falconry
Devouring scoop after scoop of Murphy’s Ice Cream

That’s all for Part 1! Stay tuned for Part 2 next week + plenty more photos <3
what camera / film do you use ! You captured it beautifully!
This feels contemporary and nostalgic all at the same time. Like you're both living the present and capturing future memories which is of course what good photography is all about. Bravo!
