An Ode to Analog
My film journey
Hi there.
I haven’t properly introduced myself on this platform, but my name is Sara and I love film.
I’ve been photographing film exclusively since January 2022 and it’s brought me so much joy. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to my digital camera. (Speaking of which… anyone in the market for a Leica SL-2? Ours has been collecting dust on the shelf since then)
I anticipate a big part of “Analog Notes” will be dedicated to film photography + videography. It’s such a big part of my life and I’d love to share the lessons I’ve learned these past few years, my favorite equipment, and of course... plenty of example photos + videos.

All these images have been taken on the same camera, with the same film stock, and even in very similar (if not the same) lighting conditions.
Of course, there’s much more to film photography than the before-and-afters of one’s progress. I love the process, patience and intentionality that film photography brings. I hope to share the joy I’ve found in the journey with you.
Tune in next week for my favorite 35mm film camera! Xx
P.S. If you’re really wanting to sink your teeth into film photography, check out my How To Shoot Film 101 e-course where you can find everything in one place + learn at your own pace :)

I started learning about and using film a year ago! You were one of the main resources I used while learning! Still have much to learn and I just took the leap from point and shoot cameras to my very first Cannon AE-1! Currently working my way through my 2nd (really my 1st) roll of film with that camera and I've been using everything I learned in the 101 class! I can't wait for the results!
P.S. Love the comparison of your old vs new work!
Love those tomatoes
